Meet Our Veterinarians

Dr. Blasko

Allison Blasko, DVM, MS

Dr. Alli Blasko grew up in the Pacific Northwest, just outside Seattle, where her love for horses began after she was gifted with riding lessons for a birthday. She quickly became a dedicated barn rat, spending countless hours cleaning stalls, catch riding, grooming, and doing anything else she could to stay involved at the barn.

After college, Dr. Blasko attended Colorado State University, where she earned both her Master's and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees. She then completed an intense, one-year equine internship in Arizona before continuing her career in equine-focused medicine. While she has practiced small animal medicine to maintain her skills, her heart has always remained with horses.

As an equine practitioner, Dr. Blasko believes strongly in supporting her colleagues—whether they're just beginning their careers or have decades of experience. Recognizing the challenges and low retention rates within equine veterinary medicine, and having personally stepped away from the field for a time, she is deeply passionate about FREUC's mission to help veterinarians remain engaged in equine practice in meaningful ways.

Dr. Blasko is driven by the variety of urgent and emergency cases she encounters and by the opportunity to assist horses and their owners during critical moments. Horses hold a special place in her heart, and she hopes that devotion shines through in her care for every equine patient.

Outside of her work with FREUC, Dr. Blasko enjoys life with her husband, Ken, and their lively family of four dogs—Ellie Rae, Radley, Juno, and Jack—two cats, Kyle and Kevin, and her beloved Appendix, Shaggy (who some might argue she loves more than Ken). Ellie or Jack can often be spotted riding along with her on calls.

She is thrilled to begin this new chapter and looks forward to serving the equine community with dedication and compassion.

Dr. Looman

Hannah Looman, DVM

Hannah grew up in Durango, Colorado on her family's Quarter Horse ranch. She has always had a love for horses and science. She participated in 4H and FFA where she showed horses and pigs and competed in state science fairs. She attended the University of Wyoming for undergraduate school where she competed on the UW Ranch Horse Team. She then completed veterinary school at Colorado State University, graduating in 2023. She is a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners and the Society for Theriogenology. She has worked at Timber Creek Veterinary Hospital in Canyon, Texas where she developed a love for equine reproduction and equine sports medicine. In her free time she enjoys hiking with her border collie, Bliss, and showing cow horses.

Dr. Shaheen

Kaitlyn Shaheen, DVM

Dr. Kaitlyn Shaheen is originally from the Texas Hill country where she spent her childhood on the lake and horseback riding. Dr. Shaheen studied Animal Science and Psychology as an undergraduate and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2021. After initially starting her career as a mixed animal veterinarian in Louisville, Kentucky, Dr. Shaheen completed an intensive equine internship in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Tryon, North Carolina. Following her internship, Dr. Shaheen felt the draw of the Rockies and has been residing in the Foothills since 2022. Dr. Shaheen has treated all variations of your furry family members from horses to pocket pets and everything in between!

Beyond her wide range of professional experiences, Dr. Shaheen prides herself in seeing each patient as a unique individual and building meaningful, trust based relationships with their owners. She strives to make both owner and patient feel comfortable, respected and understood during each and every visit.

When Dr. Shaheen isn't seeing your horse you can likely find her outside with her dog, Fergis, riding her horse, Sebastian, fishing, running, hiking, skiing or any number of the other activities that brought her to the beautiful state of Colorado!

Dr. White

Kylie White, DVM

Dr. Kylie White graduated in 2021 from Colorado State University and pursued an intensive rotating internship with Rhinebeck Equine in Rhinebeck, NY. Since that time she has worked in equine ambulatory practice, mixed animal practice and small animal emergency. She feels very fortunate to continue serving the equine community in times of emergency through FREUC and to keep learning about all that the veterinary field has to offer.
